The mother of the child, who had to pay a fine for the damage caused by her daughter, captured the incident on video. She recorded it because she thought nobody would believe her.
The school district doesn’t allow hitting students, but Florida law doesn’t specifically ban it. The mother said the paddling was harsh and scary, causing physical and possible mental damage.
The lawyer for the family is worried about how harsh the punishment is, calling it “aggravated battery.” The mother brought her daughter to see a doctor to record the injuries.
