Husband kisses wife’s head before delivery and whispers 5 words – 1 hour later he’s a single dad to quadruplets.

The first time we discover that we’re going to be parents, it’s hard to put into words the emotions we experience. Whether we’re mothers or fathers, it doesn’t matter much – most of us are just overjoyed to learn that we’re going to have a child.

Naturally, we first think about hope. We might imagine what our child will look like, what we will teach them, and the experiences we will share. Some of us also wonder how it will feel to hold them for the first time.

Unfortunately, not all pregnancies result in the joy we anticipate. Carlos Morales from Phoenix, Arizona is a prime illustration of this harsh reality, showcasing the mixed emotions that life can bring.

Carlos and Erica Morales were a perfect couple, according to everyone. They started dating in 2006 after meeting at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona. Despite the challenge of a language barrier – Carlos didn’t speak English and Erica didn’t speak Spanish – their attraction to each other was undeniable.

Reports say Carlos and Erica danced a lot on their first night out. After the nightclub closed, Carlos gave Erica his number on a piece of paper.

Erica ended up misplacing the paper containing Carlos’s number, which could have been the end of it. However, fate had different ideas.

The pair reunited, this time thanks to mutual friends, and soon discovered that their feelings for each other were genuine.

Carlos made an effort to learn English to communicate better with Erica. At the same time, Erica learned Spanish.

The couple, who were deeply in love, tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held in Las Vegas in 2007. After that, they started their journey to build a family.

Version 1: Unfortunately, their first try ended tragically with a miscarriage. However, with the aid of fertility treatment, Erica became pregnant once more, and this time the couple were in for a surprising twist.

Version 1: Erica found out during her first sonogram that she was expecting not one, but four babies!

Over time, Carlos and Erica prepared to welcome quadruplets. Erica struggled with carrying four children, so Carlos took on the responsibility of caring for her and managing household tasks like cooking and cleaning.

On January 12, 2015, Erica was taken to the hospital due to high blood pressure. Before Carlos could arrive, she sent him a text message informing him that the doctors needed to deliver the babies immediately because she was having continuous contractions.

Upon Carlos’s arrival, he and Erica captured photos and videos to cherish in the future. Just before Erica entered the delivery room, Carlos lovingly kissed her on the head and exclaimed, “Let’s bring these babies into the world.”

He was unaware that day would bring about significant changes in his life.

Carlos stated that the quadruplets, consisting of three girls and one boy, were born through a C-section.

“We were so excited to start our family,” Carlo said, as per Yahoo. “And then it all came crashing down.”

Erica experienced a cruel twist of fate when she went into hypovolemic shock immediately after giving birth. This condition is marked by a significant loss of blood and fluids.

Carlos sat next to his wife in the hospital room. Suddenly, alarms went off and nurses hurried in. The new dad was told to step outside as doctors took care of his wife. An hour later, a doctor came out and broke the news that Erica had died.

He reflected: “How could this have happened? She was fine, and then she wasn’t. She was alive and then she was just gone. I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life. My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.”

Carlos named his children Carlos Jr., Paisley, and Tracey, after recalling a previous conversation he had with his deceased wife. The third daughter was given the name “Erica”.

On January 16, 2015, the father brought two of his children home from the hospital. The remaining two were discharged on March 11.

Even though Carlos was devastated by his partner’s death, he made sure to support his children. He attended baby-care classes, mastering tasks like bathing, feeding, and managing their sleep. He even learned CPR.

Erica’s mother, Sondra Bridges, eventually relocated to Carlos’ place to assist him in looking after her grandchildren.

“It’s funny how things turn out,” Sondra said. “Bittersweet, but at the same time, thanks to God, and the outpouring support of the public, it’s been phenomenal. And I’d like to say thank you to each and every one of you. All the support we’ve gotten from you, we appreciate it.”

I can’t help but imagine the mix of emotions Carlos experienced when his children were born. What are your thoughts on his story? Share them in the comments section.
