Katie Holmes recently shared in a rare interview that she is determined to “safeguard” her daughter, whom she shares with Tom Cruise.
Holmes and Cruise, known for his role in Mission Impossible, ended their six-year marriage in 2012, which attracted a lot of media attention.
Following their separation, Holmes retained custody of their daughter, Suri, amidst various speculations about their divorce. Holmes has been vocal about keeping her daughter out of the public eye as she has grown up, now being sixteen years old.
Holmes gained fame at 19 when she was chosen for the teen drama Dawson’s Creek.
During an interview with Glamour Magazine, Holmes expressed her strong desire to develop as an actor rather than solely taking advantage of the success of Dawson’s Creek. She emphasized her eagerness to learn from others.
After she began dating Tom Cruise, a famous Hollywood actor, the actress from Batman Begins achieved even greater success. The birth of their daughter, Suri, caused a surge of media attention towards their family.
Due to the constant attention from the media, new paparazzi pictures of Tom and Kate’s young daughter started showing up almost daily. In response, Kate chose to step back from the public eye to protect her daughter’s privacy. This decision caused her to take a break from her career until 2011.
