True gestures of kindness are those that are performed disinterestedly, without expecting anything in return, without waiting for someone to recognize the goodness of our gesture and compliment us for it. Gloria is a mother of six children, and she has taught them that the true test of character is what a person does when no one is watching and when nothing is asked of them. We can therefore imagine how proud she was when she saw the gesture performed selflessly by her 10-year-old son.
The woman posted a video on TikTok, which quickly became popular. Gloria has six children, and that evening, 18-month-old Greyson was in her crib. The baby was fussing and crying in the middle of the night: it was 3 in the morning. Mason, aged 10, heard some noise and went to check on his little brother in the middle of the night. The sweet scene was filmed by the baby monitor, through which the mother witnessed her son’s gesture of thoughtfulness and kindness.
The video shows the 10-year-old boy entering the bedroom and picking up the agitated little one. Gloria wrote: “ Grayson woke up in the middle of the night. I heard him stirring, so I checked the camera to see if he would go back to sleep and saw his brother showing the best example of love and patience. He stayed with him for almost 30 minutes trying to get him to go back to sleep. I finally asked him why he didn’t come to me. He said he wanted me to get some rest because I did a lot that day. Even though parenting is not his responsibility, just the fact that he understood that he was his brother’s keeper and considered my long day as a mom, is much appreciated. “
Gloria is proud of her son: she is proud because she chose not to wake up her mother and take care of her little brother independently, without expecting any reward in return. This gesture filled her with joy: Mason proved to be patient, kind, and helpful, even when he wasn’t specifically asked to be.
